The Renaissance wasn't just about changes in art; the church too underwent dramatic change. In the 1500s there was a movement within the church called the Reformation.  Members of the church had begun to question some of the church doctrines and began to reexamine the Bible itself to find truth.  This led to the rise of great Reformers like Martin Luther and William Tysdale; people with the courage to do what they knew was right.
