Andrei - Period 5
Today in Mr. Roughton's class we had a lot of fun. We played his famous game Jurupardy.
[Roughton note: Not just a fun name, but free of copyright restrictions!]
It was really fun. But even though group #3 beat all of us, there were many interesting questions that we answered by our groups. So, hopefully you study tonight for our test on the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas for tomorrow. Good luck! :]

Today we read a passage from the Popol Vuh (boring!!) Mr. Roughton read a story that the "stupid" (in his words) book didn't finish.
[Roughton note- Two things. First, any story about gouging out eyes is not boring. Second, any creation story that STOPS before the creation part is just well... stupid.]
Also we watched a Mayan "Doomsday" movie. It is very creepy. It is freaking me out. The Mayans are creepier than I thought... wow...! The bellwork today was sooo boring. The Maya believe the world will end of December 21, 2012... ah I wont even be able to drive yet!!! This movie is creppy, scary and BORING! No offense Mr. Roughton.
[Roughton note- None taken, I didn't make the movie.]
Yay this is the last period of the day. I dont wanna die in 2012.

Today in Mr.Roughton's class we had our first day of notes on the maya civilization. It was very interesting and i enjoyed learning about it we laerned about hpw the mayan civilization was incredibely more advanced than the rest of the world and they were isolated so they had to create a language , writing system, and farming system. It also was very hard to live wehere they were living IN A FOREST! I MEAN COME ON! why couldnt they be sane peaple and go to another place and why did they just dissapear like that FREAKY! AND THAT IS WHAT WE LEARNED! from Mr.Roughton's fav student.

Choose Your Own Assignment finally came. So many points have come to do once everyone walked in the classroom. Our bellwork was asking the most interesting thing learning on Japan - NINJAS!!! Mr. Roughton explained what to do and on we went to "choose our own assignment" which totally ROCKS. Everyone is talking like crazy making noise on choosing and planning.
[Roughton note: A quiet classroom is a lifeless classroom... that or one that just behaves... I dunno.]
I chose History Model, it's the best thing to do right? am I right or am I right?
[Roughton note: Given the choices I guess you're right.]
It is looking as if everyone has already started because of all the quietness. Cesar and Ross keep arguing about the A to Z book and ask for help from me. Now we are ready to leave to period 2 or 1st lunch. Makes me hungry!!!

Please make this pink!!! Pink rox!!!! Anyways, in class today, we took notes(ewww. I mean YAY!!!!) I think we are about done with Japan. We had to add MORE questions to our notes... Notes are NOT fun!
[Roughton note: We talked about samurai underwear, of course it was fun.]
Jessica cut her hair and it looks really different btw. I dont know if there is much else different in our class. UMMM.... not much happened today but since nobody wrote anything for yesterday, I will add that in too. Yesterday, we spent 50 painstaiking minutes trying to come up with two haikus, one about Japan and one about something else. My I have to say were pretty kewl. ;D Well I guess that's bout it. Ttfn! OMG! Today must have been sooooo embarrasing for some people.
[Roughton note: But not you because..?]
We did sumo practices to see who was Japaneser than a seventh grader.I was not to excited acting like a fat oh i mean overweight
[Roughton note: Reminder: Plump and round.]
person try to make an earthquake but hey if that means an A im all for it.What i thought was the atempt to make an earthquake is really to scare away any demons that were present. I learned that sumo wrestiling is really a replay of what Japanese legend says was a fight between a bad god and a good god and instead of talking it out like sane people they ate one to many fishies and decided to fat fight JK! No offense! just kidding!!!!

(Mr.Roughton please make my blog light purple,Gracias!) Today in Mr.Roughton's class was BOMB!(because i was there LOL!)We did the most exciting thing you could possibly think of.NOTES!!!!! We learned about many things for example we learned about Japanese writing and literature, The Tale of Genji,Haikus,Zen Buddhism, and Zen Gardens.Japanese Writing and literature was broght over from china, but since the Japanese were so stuck up they thought they could make a better style. (I don't really care cuz both styles are confusing)
[Roughton note: Ok, to clarify, they wanted a style to express their own language. Olivia is clearly good at expressing her own language. I'll let you figure out what that implies...]
The Tale of Genji was written by Lady Muraski (Fat women ROCK)
[Roughton note: Round and plump, remember?]
in 1,000 AD.It's about a prince seeking his true love (eeeeewwwww!). Haiku's are a type of stupid easy poems ,oh i mean beautful but difficult poems (hehe, my bad). Japanese Buddhism is all about loving life and teaching your noggin about disipline(Anjelica note: huh? was tat?) and perfect place to think about that is in a simple Zen Garden. Am i writing to much cuz my hand hurts oh well. I BETTER GET 10 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS AFTER ALL THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Roughton note: I see you tried to save yourself by avoiding using the space bar whenever possible

Today
in Mr.
Roughton's class is like any other
day, Mr.Roughton starts off like he is going to give us
a referral for taking
out our pencils
[Roughton note: Apparently, I have a thing against pencils. Who knew?]
but then slowly gets into the funny and
cool teacher mood
.
[Roughton note: Honestly, blame period 4
]
Our bellwork
was to describe
a picture in our textbook. The picture was a
photo of Moun
t Fuji in spring.
Our assignment
was a Japan ChapterWalk, its a
page where
they ask you a lot of questions about the section we are studying and then you have to look the answers up in the textbook that Mr. Roughton
tries to avoid but yet tries to use it as much as
he can.
[Roughton note: I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean but if you want to use the textbook more ok, you got it! Period 5 will thank you!]
That is what happened in
Mr.Roughton's most
exciting class,5th period (HONORS).

We did a chapter walk. My friend got in trouble. Jasleen got to sit next to me. [Roughton note- ya, we'll see how long that lasts...] Tabatha was standing up looking in her folder and Christina was on the other side of the room looking at her's too. Gina was making fun of Brenda and Jasleen was playing with silly putty. The chapter walk was on Japan and I liked it.
